Privacy Policy

LightSync turns music into light shows on your Philips Hue and Home Assistant lights. It is built to work entirely on your own device and home network. We don't run any servers for the app, and we don't collect, sell or share your personal data.
Microphone and audio
LightSync uses the microphone, or an audio interface you choose, to hear the beat. The audio is analysed on your device as it arrives. It is never recorded, stored or sent anywhere.
Your lights and home network
To control your lights, LightSync connects directly to your Hue Bridge and/or your Home Assistant server on your network.
- Bridge discovery. When you tap Find bridge, the app asks Philips Hue's discovery service (
discovery.meethue.com) for the address of bridges on your network. That request is covered by Signify's (Philips Hue's) own privacy notice. - Keys and tokens. The Hue Bridge key and the Home Assistant access token stay on your device. They are stored in the iOS/macOS Keychain (which is included only in your own encrypted device backups) or in Android Keystore-encrypted storage (which is left out of backups).
- Settings. Your settings, scenes, chases and room layout are stored only on your device.
Subscriptions
Purchases are handled entirely by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We never see your payment details. The store tells the app only whether your subscription is active.
Analytics, ads and tracking
LightSync has no analytics, no advertising and no third-party tracking SDKs.
This website
This site uses no cookies or analytics. Like most web servers, it keeps standard access logs (IP address, time and page requested) for security, which are deleted automatically.
Children
LightSync is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this address with a new date.
